Geoff Huegill is looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2003 world championship.

At the Barcelona meet Geoff surrendered his tournament 50m butterfly record and failed to qualify for the 100m butterfly final.

He had claimed the 50m championship record at the 2001 world championships.

But he will be back.

He is currently the Commonwealth and Australian Record Holder for the short course 100m Butterfly, and the Olympic 100m butterfly record holder.

Geoff emerged as part of the Australian team touring Monte Carlo in 1996. He missed out on the Atlanta Olympics but got his chance to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Games and World Championships in 1998.

Geoff Huegill has now established himself as one of the World's great butterfly competitors and a tour de force for Australian swimming.

The swimmer nicknamed "Skippy" is known to be quite a character and is well liked by the public and his peers.

His talent, good looks and personality will ensure that he continues his position as a high profile athlete for Australia.
