Biography

Richard Fidler is a TV writer and presenter. He is most well known as the host of ABC TV's Race Around the World, and as a member of the comedy trio (no longer) the 'Doug Anthony Allstars'.

Richard has worked on many successful TV series, including the ABC's The Big Gig, Viva Cabaret and Friday Night Live for Channel 4 in the UK, as both a writer and a performer.

He has also co-written three books, four music albums and two comic books.

Richard is also creatively involved in interactive multimedia. He won the 1997 Australian Interactive Multimedia Industry Association (AIMIA) award for best writer for Real Wild Child, a CD Rom history of Australian rock and roll.

Currently Richard is co-host of Cosmopolitan, a weekly national radio show on the Austereo network, and is a regular contributor to magazines such as GQ, Elle and the Sydney Morning Herald (ICON). He appeared regularly on the Ten Network's Good News Week He has just completed the first series of 'Aftershock' seen on ABC TV .

As a creative and early user of the internet Richard has long been familiar with IT issues. He regularly addresses corporate clients as either a key-note speaker, is a fantastic after dinner presenter and a witty debater, facilitator and awards night MC.

Richard has worked for clients such as Elle Magazine, CPA's, the University of NSW, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Andersen Consulting, Mincom Software and Apple Computer, to name a few. He has hosted awards nights for Morgan & Banks, the 1999 Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM) Awards, the 1999 Elle Style Awards and the 1998 AFR Telstra Internet Awards.
