Women with Standards

Women with Standards ask, So, are diamonds still a girl's best friend? Should you stand by your man? Well, fortunately, we have four of Australia's greatest voices to tell us: Naomi Eyers, Libby O'Donovan, Melissa McCaig and Lee McAllistair stamp their authority on the standard songs of the 20th century written by such luminaries as Gershwin, Porter, sondheim and even the Bee Gees.

Nothing is sacred as these four open Pandora's box of secret women's business, ex-husbands to exploits and everything in between.

Big songs, bigger voices and spine-tingling harmonies with a threepiece band and an irreverent sense of humour: it's super, it's premium - it's anything but standard.

Women with Standards premiered in June 2004 with a sell-out and critically acclaimed season at the internationally renowned Adelaide Cabaret Festival. The group has since been featured in the 2004 Feast festival, a 'triumphant return season' at the 2005 Adelaide Cabaret Festival and at theatres and entertainment centres throughout Australia on their recent company tour. Women with Standards will perform in the Famous Spiegeltent for Adelaide Fringe 2006 - the second largest Fringe Festival in the world. In July 2006, Women with Standards embarked on a tour across Asia and the UK, including a debut Edinburgh Fringe season.
