This spectacular new concept combining live opera singers with circus artists has not been seen anywhere in the world before. Taking well-known works operas, musicals and other classic songs and placing them amongst dynamic physical, character-based performance brings the music and the circus acts to audiences a completely fresh and exciting perspective.

This extraordinary performance combines an innovative fusion of circus, opera, drama, beauty, comedy and magic including: lyrical, slow balancing routines to the Flower Duet Lakme, an astounding aerial routine to The Queen of the Night aria The Magic Flute, a comedy of acrobats and jugglers flying about to The Brindisi La Traviata and exhilarating tumbling and acrobatics combined with The Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner. The finale of Nessun Dorma Turandot is not to be missed. All performers are involved in all aspects of the acts: for example an opera singer in the trapeze, or a singer being carried by acrobats, whilst singing. Overall, the incorporation of all artists in the scene is unique and spectacular.

Opera Circus features internationally acclaimed artists including high-flying physical performers, dynamic and daring acrobats and some of Australia's most talented operatic singers. Together these dynamic young artists offer a show that is unlike any circus or opera that has been seen - a totally new option for arts and entertainment exclusive to MTA.
