Rob Hamill captured headlines around the world as one of the duo to win the grueling 4,500km Atlantic Rowing Race the Canary Islands to Barbados in just 41 days 2 hours and 55 minutes - days ahead of the opposition. A feat of extraordinary courage, passion and commitment, documented by Rob in his book 'The Naked Rower'. The Kiwi Challenge proved to be an inspirational accomplishment and the realisation of a remarkable dream.
Marathon rowing champion Rob Hamill has been an international rowing representative for 16 years. Rob's numerous rowing achievements include World Championship silver, Commonwealth gold and a world record on the indoor rowing machine.
Rob rowed at the Atlanta Olympics before taking on the Atlantic Ocean and winning the worlds first ever tranz-ocean rowing race.
He then led successful defenses of the title in 2001 and 2003 and is now managing a mixed crew in this year's event starting in November. Rob is also organising a rowing race across the Tasman Sea between Sydney and Auckland.
Rob's presentations on the trials and tribulations of ocean rowing are humorous yet motivational and he uses an amazing audiovisual show to help make the audience feel part of the epic.
