Nic Frances

Nic Frances is a world renowned Social Entrepreneur who is passionate about showing that Social Enterprise can lead the new global market agenda. This year Nic has started a 'for profit' environmental and social purpose enterprise called Easy Being Green which is working to drive environmental change in households nationally and internationally.
He was Executive Director at the Brotherhood of St Laurence, one of Australia's leading welfare organisations based in Melbourne, 1999 until December 2003.
Born in the United Kingdom, Nic first worked in the corporate world of hospitality as well as stockbroking. He later established two UK social businesses - Furniture Resource Centre and CREATE and he received a MBE the British Government for services to charity.
He is recognised by the Schwab Foundation as one of the world's leading Social Entrepreneurs. Nic is a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Social Research at Swinburne University and an Advisory Board Member with the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research since 2000. In 2003 Nic was awarded a Centenary Medal for service to Australian society.
Nic has two children, Charlie aged eight and Holly aged three. He is currently building a house by himself in the Victorian Alps. He was ordained as an Anglican priest in 1996.
