Since winning five gold medals at his athletic debut at the 1995 National Championships, Tim Mathews has since established himself as one of the fastest arm amputee runners in the world. Tim has won five Paralympic medals including two gold, two bronze and two world records at the 2000 Sydney Paralympic Games and one gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Paralympics. Tim was unlucky at the Athens Paralympics after tearing his hamstring in the heat of the 100 metres.
