Gabrielle Morrissey

Dr Gabrielle Morrissey has been a sexologist - sexuality educator, sex consultant and sex researcher - since 1990. In addition to her distinguished academic qualifications in sexuality, Dr Gabrielle has varied media experience in television, radio and magazines. She is the author of the successful sexuality book for teens and young adults, Sex in the Time of Generation X, and her second sex book, Urge (also known as Hot Secrets for Great Sex, Tirami Su and Jak Na To overseas) was released in Australia in June 2002, and has been sold to the US, UK, Canada and Europe. Gabrielle is currently writing her third book, Spicy Sex, to be published and distributed by HarperCollins in February 2006.

Dr Gabrielle is in the rare position of being a media-sure 'sexpert' with graduate training and experience specifically in sex education and therapy. She received her PhD in Sexology/Health Science Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia, where she headed the Sexology Program for three years, 2002 to 2004, and now works as a postgraduate research supervisor. In addition to running the undergraduate sexology program, and developing the Master of Sexology, she launched the world's first Master of Forensic Sexology program at Curtin in July 2003, which has attracted international attention and respect. Dr Gabrielle also works as a Teaching Fellow, lecturing on Love, Sex and Relationships in the Psychology Department, and Sex, Society and the Movies in the School of Film, Television and Screen Based Media at Bond University on Queensland's Gold Coast, as well as serving as Adjunct Associate Professor in the Division of Health and Applied Sciences at Southern Cross University.
