A Melbourne author, Goldie Alexander has 25 books published both here and overseas for readers of all ages, plus many short stories and articles. Her work has won national and international awards. She has taught Creative Writing for over a decade, lectures at Universities and Tertiary Institutions and speaks in libraries, clubs and schools. She feels fortunate to have such an absorbing career and enjoys talking about her books and sharing some of her writing experiences.

Her books for adults include: Body and Soul: fiction set in 1938, and Unjust Desserts: a contemporary murder/mystery. Her most recent books for children are: My Story: Surviving Sydney Cove: the story of our First Fleet. Killer Virus: 10 short stories about boys for teenagers. Starship Q and Cowpat$, these for readers aged 9 to 12. She collaborates with Hazel Edwards to write plays for youngsters: Excuse me! Outrageous Plays. Right and Wrong And the adult ‘how-to’: The Business of Writing for Young People.

Her speaking topics include: Fictionalising History. Writing Murder Mysteries. Getting Boys Interested in Reading. So You Want to Write for Kids!
