Biography

Louise Dobson began her international hockey career as member of the 1993 Australian Junior World Cup Team that finished with a silver medal. In the following year she captained the Australian Youth Team which toured Asia.

Since ing the Hockeyroos Louise has made a major contribution to their dominance. Their gold medal winning performance in Atlanta brought up an incredible 39 match winning streak. Since Atlanta, Louise has been part of the Hockeyroos team that successfully defended their Champions Trophy title in 1997 and 1999.

However, 2000 was not an easy year for Louise as she had an injury interrupted season and narrowly missed ion for the Sydney Olympics.

Despite the obvious disappointment of missing out on her second Olympic Games, Louise returned to the Australian team for the Champions Trophy in 2001.

Dobson was part of the Hockeyroos home assault on the Champions Trophy in Sydney in late 2003. A constant threat around goal and at penalty corners throughout the tournament, Dobson collected her third Champions Trophy gold when Australia defeated China in the final.

An integral part of the Hockeyroos plans for the Athens Olympics, Dobson has now has a great opportunity to repeat the feats of Atlanta.
