Norma Plummer is the Australian Netball Coach and one of Australia’s most respected coaches.

Norma has combined her elite sporting career with a family and a highly successful career in sales and marketing.

Previous experience

Netball: As a player she first represented Victoria in open competition in 1967 and as playing coach and captain, led Victoria to back-to-back national championships in 1977 and 1978. She was selected in the Australian squad in 1972 and the highlights, in a distinguished playing career, included membership of the winning world series team in 1975, selection as Australian captain for the 1977 tour by Australia of Trinidad and Tobago and the 1978 Australian tour of England.

Coach: Norma was appointed Australian under 21 coach in 1995 and coached the team to the 1996 and 2000 World Youth Cup. She has also coached the Australian All Stars and the Australian ‘B’ team. She coached Melbourne Phoenix to the title in the final Superleague series in 1996 and then to win the first ever National League championship in 1997.

Championship: Appointed Australian Netball Team National Coach in 2003, and with limited preparation, Norma took the Australian Team to runners-up in the Netball World Championships. In 2007, this time with a full preparation, Norma took Australia back again to play their archrivals New Zealand, but this time winning the World Championships.
