Paula’s high-level skill sets encompass; practically applying and integrating the science of traditional psychology, positive psychology and her PhD research on mental fitness; providing consultancy, lectures, keynote presentations, workshops and evidence-based coaching to individuals, organisations, schools and the wider community; designing high-level applied psychology and positive psychology strategic planning approaches aligned to key organisational objectives, culture change, climate change and business well-being.

Paula Robinson is the Managing Director of the Positive Psychology Institute.

Previous experience

Management: Prior to becoming a Psychologist, Paula spent 12 years in senior management, where her responsibilities have included strategic planning and implementation, business development, staff recruitment and retention, advertising, marketing and sales. For the past 12 years, Paula has focused on the growth of her academic pursuits and applying her practical knowledge and experience within the profession of Psychology.

Advisor: Paula has designed, delivered and assessed a broad range of psychological services for private and public sector organisations, schools and individuals. She has also been an expert advisor for Prevention Magazine, Marie Claire, The Morning Show, ABC National Radio, Channel 10 News, The Business Program/ABC TV, Today-FM, Girlfriend Magazine.

Awards: Awarded an Australian Postgraduate Academic Scholarship, Paula has a Bachelor of Science with distinction, Honours in Psychology and a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD in Conceptualising and Measuring Mental Fitness). She also has full registration with the Psychology Registration Board, Psychometric Testing Accreditation, a certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training (AQF) and satisfies the Standards Association of Australia criteria for professional coaching. Paula is an Honorary Associate of the Macquarie University, a lecturer and Research Fellow at the University of Wollongong, Sydney Business School and School of Psychology and an invited lecturer at the University of Melbourne Graduate School of Education.
