Jason Walsh looks like an everyman, someone that you would walk past on the street without a second glance, but his drive and determination make him a unique and powerful storyteller. Jason has achieved huge levels of success in his career in the NRL and credits this to his commitment to achieving SMART goals in his professional and personal life.

Current Work:

SMART goals became a passion for Jason in 1991 during his work as a Rugby League official refereeing in one of Australia’s toughest competitive sports. In his stellar career with the NRL Jason has officiated at venues over Australia and New Zealand and across every grade from under-6s to City Country, State of Origin, the NRL Grand Final and International matches. In total Jason officiated 226 NRL games which his final match being Melbourne Storm vs Canberra Raiders at AAMI Park in Melbourne in front of a crowd of 20,508 people including his family.

Alongside his NRL career Jason also held a position in the financial services industry as an Executive Manager in the Australian banking industry. Jason’s success is a shining example of the effect a work-life balance and flexibility in the workforce can have on achieving professional goals and his presentations show audiences how to achieve this through the SMART goals method.

Jason is also a patron of a number of charities and not-for-profit organisations and is a Life Member of the Warringah referees association.
