Julia Hartley Moore is an internationally renowned private investigator, author, expert in human nature, businesswoman and motivational speaker. She has been featured on the BBC, Huffington Post and 60 Minutes.

Julia’s firm Arbeth & Co Ltd was named after her mother (“Mum was known for her discretion”, says Julia) and is staffed exclusively by ex-London Met Police, intelligence experts and Special Forces personnel. Operating globally, the company provides confidential services to clients from pop superstars and politicians to top sports teams, high net-worth individuals and corporations.

Current work

Now happily married to Steve, the woman a prominent journalist dubbed “the human lie detector”, currently lives by the sea with their dogs.

In New Zealand, Julia is a well-known commentator on TV, radio and in print. A regular guest on TVNZ’s Breakfast, TV3’s AM Show with Duncan Garner, Radio NZ’s “The Panel” and
RadioLive Drive. She was the star of reality series “Private Investigators” which has been aired around the world, a panellist on TVNZ’s “How’s Life” and has made numerous appearances on “60 Minutes”, “Sunday”, “Fair Go”, “ONE News”, and “3 News”.

Previous experience

Background: A dyslexic who left school at 14, Julia was the mother of three young children by 16, and divorced from her first husband at 20, but this straight talking, glamorous and inspirational woman has never allowed anything to hold her back.

PI: The end of her second marriage in the early ’90’s saw Julia begin a new life in Europe, working for famous Egyptian tycoon, Mohammed Al Fayed at Harrods of London, who put her on the path to becoming a private investigator.

Returning home, Julia became the first woman to own a private investigation company in New Zealand. In an industry dominated by male ex-police, Julia’s arrival on the scene was controversial, but this savvy businesswoman saw an opportunity – turning herself into the face of her company and in the process, transforming an entire industry.

International Author: Julia has authored three books which have been published internationally by HarperCollins and Penguin Books. and translated into 16 languages.

Radio Host & Media Commentator: Julia is recognised internationally as an expert on relationships, infidelity and human nature. Her opinion has been sought by global media including the UK’s BBC, Good Morning America, The View, the Daily Mail and Huffington Post.
