Profile

A Certified Financial Planner practitioner and former director of the Financial Planning Association, Kevin received a Distinguished Service Award in 2002 and was made a Fellow of the FPA in May 2005.

Current work

Kevin currently sits on the FPA’s Conduct Review Commission and Professional Conduct Committee. He was Financial Planner of the Year in 1998 and the highest rated premier adviser with independent ratings agency Advisor Ratings for 2003 and 2004.

Previous experience

Kevin has been a practising financial planner since 1986. He was Victorian State Manager of Monitor Money Corporation before establishing The Money Managers in 1996. The Money Managers later became part of the Shadforth Financial Group. The Federal Government appointed Kevin to the National Advisory Committee on Ageing from 2001-2004. He has also been a member of the Melbourne chapter of ASIC’s Business Consultative Panel and an expert witness in several legal cases.

Author: Kevin is the author of Your Money Guide and Money Guide 2. He has also presented radio talkback programs for the ABC and 3AW, contributed a weekly finance column for the Herald Sun between 1998 and 2009 and has contributed to several journals and magazines. He has spoken worldwide on financial matters and on business and leadership.

Kevin was the Honorary Consul General for East Timor from independence in 2002 until 2013. He is a director of the Investment Advisory Board of the Sovereign Wealth Fund of East Timor which manages over $10 Billion from their Petroleum Resources. He was a director of Action Aid Australia and remains active in providing aid to East Timor, India and other developing economies through several charitable organisations. Kevin heads the Philanthropic Services division of the Shadforth Financial Group and is extremely active in both charitable organisations and church activities, particularly in the area of marriage and family.
