Sugar Blue are a seasoned, polished and seriously entertaining reggae, funk and jazz band featuring Pete Michell on saxophone and percussion, Paul Jamieson on guitar, lead vocals and percussion, Scott Hay on drums and Vince Wienckowsky on double bass and electric bass.

Front man Paul Jamieson has performed at numerous functions, major events and festivals across Australia including Crown Casino, Lassiters Casino, The Spirit of Tasmania, The St Kilda Festival, Menzies Rialto, Brighton International and the Maroondah Festival. English/Jamaican, Paul brings a cultural influence that comes across in the rhythms and vocal style though he is well versed in various popular music styles.

Pete draws on a wide range of musical experience, having led his own bands and been a member of well-known big-bands, touring Australia and internationally. A versatile musician playing the beautiful soprano sax right through to the deep and resonant baritone sax, as well as guitar and hand percussion, recent tours have included New Caledonia and the Northern Territory.

Scott is a well respected Melbourne drummer, well established in the jazz scene. He appears regularly at Dizzy’s Jazz Club, Paris Cat, Manchester Lane and Crown Casino and festivals included the Wangaratta Jazz Festival. A smooth drummer with great dynamic range according to the setting.

Vince is a veteran of the Melbourne music scene, and a long-time band mate of Paul and Pete. Recent performances have included trio performances at the Royal Hotel in Essendon, Music Day for the City of Casey and as quartet at Tesselaar Tulip Festival.
