As one half of the Emma & Tom’s, an Australian wellbeing drinks and snacks brand, Tom Griffith is an inspirational entrepreneur, brand builder and true Australian success story.
Tom co-founded Emma & Tom’s in 2004 with his childhood friend Emma Welsh. Both share a passion for healthy choices, active life and everyday, balanced nutrition and saw a need for an Australian healthy, great tasting, natural, minimally processed snack and juice alternatives to sugary, preservative-riddled, over-processed options out there already.
Based on the simple and powerful philosophy ‘Look After Yourself’, Emma & Tom’s has grown to become one of Australia’s greatest start-up business success stories and an internationally recognised brand. Boasting a range of whole fruit, naturally good-for-you products now available in over 6,000 retail outlets nationwide, the business has expanded distribution to export markets including China, Hong Kong, Jordan and Dubai.
Tom is regularly sought after as a speaker on entrepreneurship, the business of start-ups, building brand and the secret to successful partnerships. He is regularly called upon as a commentator by Australia’s finance journalists, including Peter Switzer, David Koch, Tom Elliot and Ross Greenwood. Additionally, he is a mentor and guest lecturer for the University of Melbourne’s entrepreneurial program, a Director of independent Australian Investment Bank, Record Point and an investor and advisor to GAP Technologies, who are developing the first pallet made from recycled plastic.
Tom is also a passionate and outstanding community leader who contributes many pro bono hours to local social justice initiatives, and Emma & Tom’s makes annual contributions to local not-for-profit’s targeting poverty, economic empowerment, and education and health projects Australia-wide. Tom also co-founded The Unite Project with the Cotton On Group whose mission is to fight youth homelessness across Australia.
